The San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl is hosting
its second annual on-line auction, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting
the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of San Diego.
San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl officials
announced today that they have signed a contingency agreement with the Western
Athletic Conference that impacts the 2008 and 2009 bowl games.
The United States Naval Academy Midshipmen will play in the
2010 San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl with a six win or better
regular season, San Diego Bowl Game Association President Larry Baber announced
today.
With college football in position for takeoff and bound for
the 2008 season, the debate of the NCAA adopting a post-season playoff versus
protecting the bowl games takes flight again. Fans across America will write to newspapers, call radio stations and e-mail
anyone who will listen and express their views.
The Mountain West Conference meets a new foe in the 2008 San
Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl.In an effort to provide fans with the best possible post-season
matchups, Poinsettia Bowl organizers last year secured a contract with one of
the nation�s marquee conferences, the Pacific-10.
San Diego’s two post-season college football games combined
to produce an economic impact of $41.5 million for the San Diego region in
2007.This figure was the result of a
study conducted by the San Diego State University Center for Hospitality and
Tourism Research.
The San Diego Bowl Game Association’s board of directors has
elected Lawrence P. Baber president of the 2008 Pacific Life Holiday Bowl and
San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl.
